Working away from home this week I spotted this dataviz in the wild as a fun example of how to get round the fact that you only have one colour to play with.

The annotations and alteration of colour do the trick!

The height of the 0.3ct seems dictated by the hight of the text, and I haven’t done the maths on the impact of going 3D, but I’m filing it away under interesting annotation combinations and clever use of colour constraints.
